Pirate Showcase #149: Jovial Race (NES)

Another copy of Rally X, only that this one is from Sachen (the previous one was BB Car for PS#14). Other than the game having two title screens and random objects that appear as you're busy collecting the flags, it seems an okay game but I can't really say if it's better than BB Car. At least you actually leave a trail of smoke just like Rally X instead of random shapes like in BB Car.

On an unrelated note, this is the second video showing this game believe it or not.

Hitting ducks and butterflies (any maybe more) make you lose some money. (Much like paying a fine for killing an endangered specie.)

I didn't know what Rally X was when I first played this game. That took me months to finally find out.

I really love that "bloik" sound they keep using (when you get an item). It always reminds me of Mickey Mousecapades.

ahhh the music is so annoying... @_@ yeah I thought the trail of shapes in the other one looked weird too so at least the trail of smoke in this one is an improvement

I've always wondered why there was no official Rally X game on NES. It's a shame because it's a fun game... and neither of the pirates do justice.
