1992 Toyota Celica homemade intake

-I can't believe how many morons are posting stupidity in the comments. Let me clear up some stuff for those of you and the other intelligent people:

1. This video is from 2001 BEFORE intakes were cheap and widely available. The owner of the car was in high school and didn't have a real income (what would you do?).
2. The breather was from some internet misinformation from back then. That information sounded intelligent at the time.
3. Why would you dump a ton of money into a 9 year old beater?
4. It didn't take as long as it looks. The video was started before the parts were even purchased. That time spent at the store is why it looks long.

Parts: 3" PVC piping and rubber fittings, aluminum tape, and a cheap generic cone filter costing roughly $60 total.

  • For all the mentally retarded people posting about how ghetto a homemade intake is: Why the fuck would you watch a video that shows a homemade intake if you think it's ghetto.

For the video poster: Nice work. I was thinking about doing the same to my car. What is the purpose of the breather?

  • The intake itself worked really well and made a great sound. The breather was in case you hit a puddle and possibly suck up water. The actual intake inlet was just under the front wheel axel. The breather was up near the top of the engine.

  • what did yall use to make it

  • PVC, aluminum tape, rubber fittings, and just a cheap cone air filter.

It really only took 3 hours including going out and finding all the parts.

  • Um, the purpse for a breather is its usually supposed to be on the head somewhere(its different on some cars) to lower the pcv (positive crankcase ventalation) Usually they are used on turbo'd cars but some reasons the rice guys put them on there cai's...i dont know why...they think look cool maybe?

  • It was just something we read at the time. It sounded like it made sense with the sucking up water.

This video is really more like 4 or 5 years old.

  • all this idiots posting bad stuff about this video probably dont even have a car of their own

i think this is great its creative and its something that actually works

ppl dont understand that somethings improving cars doesnt mean u buy all already made for it

if u wanna be a moron and spend thousands in letting others improve ur car

when u can just do it urself wasting alot less money for the same results

1 thing i agree on tho is the PVC it be best using exhaust pipes

  • @megahurts4 Dude you got ripped off.... You payed $60 for that ? I made my own for $26....

  • Just use 2 1/2 or 3 inch exhaust tubing, you can paint it and it works great!

  • looks like you glued 3 pringles cans together lol

  • PVC produces chorine gas when it heats up and is toxic to the engine. DON'T USE PVC

  • thats tight that you made your own intake but that engine bay looks like kah kah

  • Hey guys it looks awesome. I get a lot of heat for this but i'm currently doing up my 2 door, 5 speed, 99 Cavalier haha. I have all of the body work done including window tint, body kit, aftermarket tail and head lights etc. I also have a cherrybomb glasspack on, i'm wanting to put cold air intake in it one of these weekends. Would you recommend just making my own or ordering it online? I'm thinking about checking out what the total cost would be of making my own since this video was from 2001.

  • The guy talking sounds like old mate from csi miami

  • also i am rebuilding a 1992 celica with a twin turbo and the engine was built in japan and shipped over so to tac2791...they arnt shit but they take work....just like every other car...just saying

  • bro its not ghetto its just the people who are lazy need to waist money to make themselves feel good or they just can think hard enough to figure their own shit out...my friend and i just put a dual intake on his car for absolutely no reason but to see if we could...experiments lead to great ideas...fuck stupid people..
