@CFMD28 Sigh... They were reenacting the guitar duel between Paul, George and John in Abbey Road. In "The End" Ringo has his only solo (he hates solos), and each one of the other three had a guitar solo. So, Mark and Eric are standing in for John and George. Nobody is showing how to play the guitar to anybody. Moreover, the solo in "Taxman" is Paul's. Get your Beatle history up to date, sir.

@MrPaulzOpinion Really? Here is Mr. Collins' opinion:
Phil Collins, drummer for Genesis -- "I think he's vastly underrated. The drum fills on A Day In The Life are very complex things. You could take a great drummer today and say, 'I want it like that.' They wouldn't know what to do." (interview for The Making of Sgt. Pepper, 1992)

Perhaps you would like to know Mr. Collins' opinion on the matter. But then, you are not a drummer, are you?

@KLONDYKE1111 simple answer to you:
"Ringo has established himself with a sound that was quite unique and is the best rock drummer in the world." George Martin, 2011, "The Kats Report." Las Vegas Sun

I never saw this version before with this lineup. Every time I hear this song with a full orchestra, it always gives me goosebumps..but this version especially with George Martin, Phil Collins, Clapton, Knopfler. I've never seen Macca switch from the piano to the guitar before in this song live which was very cool and to play that last part with Clapton and Knopfler was awesome! They missed the cue when it comes back from the guitars to the piano but that ending always gives me goosebumps.
