IDEAS-Essentials of Modeling & Simulation eLearning

The U.S. Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) contracted IDEAS to create Essentials of Modeling and Simulation (EMS). The EMS course presents the basic concepts of the modeling and simulation field to the learner using Flash MX to provide complete audio, video, and graphics support. These presentations contain the primary content, important topics, and key messages of the course, about today's evolving field of M&S. Although all required course content and learning objectives are contained within the multimedia/multi-modal top-level presentations, the learner is able to "drill down" and discover additional information as they choose. This learner-centric approach to providing additional instructional content is presented within the course GUI via scrollable reference strip located at the bottom of the interface. When clicked, further references and supporting resources are available as links to external electronic resources (PDF documents, MPEG video clips, URL links) that appear on top of the course interface, allowing the learner to keep their place in the course.
