  • Love this version! Much better than the Jolson version by a long shot and I'm a keen fan of Jolson.

  • @52boof Glad you enjoyed it! The Jolson version is good, but I agree. This is better!

  • One of my favorite cylinders...and one which sounds much better than the "etched" label Diamond Disc.

  • @pghcoyote The DD's of WW1 really sounds horrible, so if I can find the same song on cylinder, I usually buy that. One of the few exceptions where the dubbed cylinders actually sounds better than the discs!

  • Billy Murray's voice was a such a natural fit for the acoustic phonograph

  • @TrappedIn1968 I don't think any popular artist was better for the acoustic records than Billy. He was one of the best!

  • Yes – this recording has more lyrics than the F.W. Ramsey 78, I suppose because Blue Amberol cylinders had extended running time.

  • @mintkitten Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @MrCoolcat1974 Happy you found my video! It's a good version

  • I grew up listening to F.W. Ramsey's recording of this!

  • Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
