Viking and Medieval Norse Studies is a two-year (120 ECTS credits) Nordic Master's Programme run by the University of Iceland in cooperation with Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Copenhagen (Denmark), University of Oslo (Norway), and the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies.

The programme will start in the autumn of 2012.

The Nordic Master's Programme is initiated by the Nordic Council of Ministers. It aims to stimulate cooperation between Nordic higher education institutions on the development of joint Master's programmes of high international quality that will attract both Nordic and non-Nordic students.

Nope. Gloves can do more harm than good. They can detract from the handler's ability to judge finger-pressure, and thus lead to tears in the MS. Generally, gloves are only used in circumstances where the item in question is in seriously fragile condition. Otherwise, conservators who wear gloves are just upholding a tradition of "apparent expertise;" like lab-coats for scientists, gloves make the MS handler look like they know what they're doing. :p These books were made to last, and to be used.

Would anyone be able to assist me in translating a simple passage from the Jomsviking saga to Old Norse? I've taken it as far as I possibly can but I haven't a clue whether or not it's as accurate as I need it to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
