It is 1850 in the beautiful, perfectly-kept town of Wismar. Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) is about to leave in a long journey over the Carpathian mountains to finalize real state arrangements with a wealthy nobleman. His wife, Lucy (Isabel Adjani), begs him not to go and is troubled by a strong premonition of danger.

Despite her warnings, Jonathan arrives four weeks later at a large gloomy castle. Out of the mist appears a pale, wraith-like figure with a shaven head and deep-sunken eyes who identifies himself as Count Dracula (Klaus kinski). The events that transpire slowly convince Harker that he is in the midst of a vampyre. What he doesn't know however, is the magnitude of danger he, his wife and his town are about to experience as victims of the Nosferatu.


És el 1850 a la bonica, perfectament conservada ciutat de Wismar. En Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) és a punt de sortir en un llarg viatge a través de les muntanyes dels Càrpats per ultimar els acords immobiliaris amb un noble ric. La seva muller, la Lucy (Isabel Adjani) li demana que no hi vagi i està amoïnada per una forta premonició de perill.

Malgrat les seves advertències, en Jonathan arriba quatre setmanes més tard a un llòbrec gran castell. En la boira apareix una figura fantasmal, pàlida, amb el cap afaitat i d'ulls enfonsats que s'identifica com el comte Dràcula (Klaus Kinski). Els esdeveniments que de mica en mica transpiren convèncen en Harker que es troba en presència d'un vampir. El que no sap però, és la magnitud del perill que ell, la seva dona i la seva ciutat estan a punt d'experimentar com a víctimes del Nosferatu.
