First color test of computer controlled stop motion animation done by computer on sand. A computer motion control system moves a magnet underneath a pan of sand with a steel ball bearing on top. A camera takes a photo after each drawing. The frames are then assembled into a movie.
It took about 2 hours. The table now draws at 600 inches per minute! Erasing the background (horizontal lines) takes only 2 minutes. The next steps are to get the lighting to move (virtually) and to script an actual story.
