  • This is a very rare movie, I've seen ever.

  • Fascinating film, but very disturbing. This is what cinema is all about. It feels like a return to eden.

And the end signifies the end of childhood.

But the Aborigines fate to me didn't make any sense.

  • hahaha, they still talking in brit accent.

  • The novel is brilliant. Back when it was written I bought it for my 10-year-old nephews and sons. No girls in the family to buy for. Have just ordered the film.

  • So glad I was born in 1974. My dad took my sister and I to so many awesome movies back in the 70's & early 80's! Eraserhead, Repoman, Buckaroo Banzai,The Elephant Man, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Blade Runner, The Last Wave, The Night Porter and so many others. Thanks Dad for having such great taste in film and for sharing it with us. Note, Jenny Agutter (sister in Walkabout) went on to play the girlfriend in An American Werewolf in London, great performance!

  • @rjkral Beautiful movie-one of my favorites- but I'd never show it to an 8 year old schoolkid.Kids are subjected to enough too soon. And to think nowadays, even more so.

  • Some excellent shots of the bush.

And the scenery's not bad either, drrrrTISH

  • They showed this at my school in Australia, I was about 8 years old. The openign scene with the shooting and the fire really traumatized me. Shocks me still to this day remembering how completely terrified and confused that scene left me, and the insanity of showing it to youngsters at school. Sure there is more to be said of the movie, but I thought I'd offer something different here for the moment.

  • Pity about the American voice trying to sell this film. Someone like John Laws might have been better.

  • @bjsparntz I'm guessing his point is that he has a very long driveway.

  • @bjsparntz What if you have alzheimers?
