@DKzgd actually it's completely on Leos ring was his totem cuz in his dreams he was still together with the lady but in reality well we all know they weren't since she's dead but since the ring is gone it pretty much states that it's real but i'm not fully sure cuz even some of the actors aren't even sure whats going on n they probably seen this part WAY more times then we did haha

no dream, no reality, nolan said you interpretate the ending as you think, so for me its reality for you might think its a dream, the true is, IT DOESNT have an ending

The main point of the movie ending how it did was for him to be with his kids again finally. However, everyone seems to care so much about whether or not he is in a dream. During the ending scene of the movie, he pins the top as to see if it will stop telling him he is out of the dream, but he walks away before it would have had a chance to stop, thus showing he just doesn't care anymore. He is happy, and that happiness is real to him, so what would it matter if he is in a dream?

what if your dreaming of having sex with your girlfriend's hot sister who has a D cup

@DKzgd (continuation),if youre in a dream and you whant your totem to fall it will fall, and if you do not whant your totem to fall in a dream it wont, but if you dont want your totem to fall in reality it will fall because of the laws of physics easy way to see if youre in or not in a dream. another thing leo got over losing his wife so he can be dreaming with out using his ring cause his already over with that issue. so did the totem fall its a mystery, this movie is just screwing with my mind

@DKzgd you could be right but he wasent in a dream through out the movie because when you realize youre in a dream and you wana wake up you will wake up this has happened to me before. i was dreaming that i knew i was in a dream then i wanted to wake up so i did, it was freaky. a way to know that youre not in a dream is with a totem like he had in the movie in a dream you can disobey physics in reality you cant so the question is did the totem fall. in a dream you can control if the totem falls

I think "duh" explains my opinion.

@T0th3b0n3 but the top was not his totem it was his wife's totem his totem was his wedding ring
-
Man i dont know or he woke up on the last job. Because in the very end u see that thingy spinnin and keeps on spinnin and then the movie ends.
@smllvllnrd4243 Dont take this as offense, I mean it lightheartedly; but are all of you ppl retarded? I feel like I'm the only one who actually paid attention during the movie... cause the "big question" wasnt: "did Leo woke up from the dream in that last job?", but rather "was his wife right and he was in the dream all along?".
Sorry for being rude, but I just cant realize how are all ppl ignorant of this interpretation, even its so obviously implied during the whole film =/

@dartagnian105 I'm not claiming it was a dream, all I'm saying its one of possible interpretations...
Rules of inception dreams are not that simple, they know they are in the dream all the time. Secondly it doesn't work that way in real life either, cause it happen to me many times that I figured out I was in the dream, tried to wake up, and then dreamed that I have done so, when in fact I was still dreaming...
And your idea about totem purpose in the movie is completely off...
