This is a video we took off the boardwalk at Yorktown. These are sea nettle jellyfish from the Chesapeake Bay. We also saw a few stingrays but they can't be seen on this video

    Nobody who enjoys the beach considers those nasty things "cute". Those long tentacles are covered with poison stinging cells that will give you a rash if you touch them. Even if you avoid touching the jellyfish, the pieces that break off will give you smaller "spot stings". You see how infested the water is- that's a swimming beach. Right now ALL the beaches on the Virginia peninsula look like that video.

    I HATE those damn things.
