Railfanning Pine Junction. Gary, Indiana's Hotspot. 4/29/09.

Went out on a gloomy Gary day to catch a few in the early morning and afternoon. Was fairly busy, but could have been better. Only two trains showed up on the CSX line.

Train 17- Here's one of two trains I caught on the CSX line. The daily Y123 Local heads to Curtis Yard long hood forward.

Train 19- Finish up the day with an intermodal led by common CSX power.

Gary is a busy place to watch trains. I love all the Amtraks going in and out of Chicago. Is those two tracks the same tracks that goes through Hammond where that woman ran the railroad crossing to beat a train and got hit by another train coming in the opposite direction?
