Here is a working 1/2 filled solar panel with the cells temporarily mounted to a board to test output. CIS solar cells are mounted in 19 parallel modules of 4 cells in series. 12 watt output tested in the afternoon. A LOAD of effort (and cost) just to see if I could make this work. But so far, it works.

  • Nice, did you get those cells off of ebay ? I have a similar setup to power a small 12 volt digital tv and a 12 volt fan. I have 12 watts of crystalline solar panels (800 mah) going directly into a 5 ah SLA battery. I was at first using a charge controller like you, but just decided to run the panels directly in for more efficiency.....Works out good too, haven't had a single overcharge yet!

  • @sirmasterpimp Yeah, I got CIGS cells, not the silicon ones.
