As you may be aware, in May of this year, NASA launched its final mission to the HST to perform an upgrade. During this tricky mission, the astronauts replaced several key instruments with brand new ones, making the HST into an essentially brand new telescope.

Now anybody who's watched this channel for any length of time knows how I feel about the HST, I think it's one of the most important scientific instruments ever created. It has shown us views of our universe and provided context of our place within it in a way that has never before been done by anything since the invention of the telescope itself.

So it shouldn't come as any surprise that these latest images from the Hubble's upgraded cameras are among the most amazing ever taken.

Here's a sample of the latest images from the new and improved Hubble Space telescope released earlier this week.

  • I'm going invent make believe thens too like I'm rich and have Ferrari

  • Dark matter what a crock

  • @Helge129 Uh... I think we've crossed wires here. It was SandustanBrasov going on about 'ethereal' matter, etc. I'm just elaborating on what we do & don't know about DM. People get the impression that we're totally clueless about it, in part because Neil deGrasse Tyson & others seemingly go out of their way to give the public that impression, rather than explaining what we do know, what we don't know, and what we think might be true, but are not certain of. BTW, my bet's on the neutralino. ;-)

  • @sbergman27 ethereal is still not a state of matter...it doesn't exist.

What you are reffering to is called Dark Matter, a whole new kind of matter.

  • @Helge129 I would be more inclined to say its existence has been solidly established, but that we don't know exactly what it is. We can see it clearly. Even make accurate maps of it. But via gravity, which is a perfectly valid way of detecting things. It was a fallacy for us to start out assuming that everything in space must interact via EM. It was never a valid assumption. One might as well say that our galactic center is hypothesis since we can't see it in visible light, but only in IR.

  • @ZeHoSmusician Harsh, but true.

  • @sandustanBrasov you are part right: There are 4 states, but ethereal isn't one of them, the 4th state is Plasma.

  • SandustanBrasov

And yet, we can see, we can visualize the ethereal matter. The scheme to one device for to visualize the ethereal matter: EXIST! And this device it can realize!

The matter of the our terrestrial globe has four states of aggregation: solid, liquid, gseous and ethereal and not three after official science. The matter on which we see it, proceed from the ethereal matter, which from cancentration in concentration it had constituted in the electrons, in protons respectivel;y in the atoms of the chemical elements which had overtaken at the gaseous, liquid and solid state. All the matter on which we see it, is condensed ether.
