Ride onboard the supreme Class 395 Javelin on a high speed trip from St Pancras to Ashford. The entire trip is on High Speed One thus enabling the Javelin to reach its top speed of 140 mph (225 kph). It's acceleration is out of this world, it takes off like a rocket. The journey passes through key places such as Stratford International, Dagenham, the QE2 Bridge and the Medway Viaduct. If you're lucky you may pass a Eurostar or another Javelin at speed en route. Seeing this video will make you wish you were onboard too as the Javelin is a stunning box of Japanese Bullet Train technology. I strongly recommend you to try out the new Southeastern Highspeed Service as it has made quick seemless journeys from places such as Dover, Ramsgate, Faversham and Ashford a reality. Roll on December for the introduction of the full timetable.

  • I've been on it. The acceleration is very high when your in the tunnel.

  • @hellohello1700 It is indeed very rapid in the tunnel, did you enjoy your trip on the Javelin?

  • Cool, the acceleration looks very impressive! I like how the motor sing a chord as the work the train up to speed. The line is definitely on my to-do list!

  • @soundseeker63 I'm glad you like the Javelin :)

  • What I don't like about the Javelin is its PA system. They should work on it instead of like "Welcome aboard the Southeastern High Speed service to Ashford Int'l. We will be calling at Ashford Int'l. The next station is Ashford Int'l. This train is now FAST to Ashford Int'l."

  • @StephenETavington Good point, it can get boring after a while.

  • I live in Croydon, but regularly travel to Ashford.

Sadly, despite the governments propoganda, this service will reduce my journey time from 2 hours 15mins on average, to 1hour 49 on average...hardly a revolutionary leap forward, and at considerable extra ticket cost and considerable tax cost...

Sorry to be on a downer, but I think I represent many angry rail travellers in the South london and Kent region.

    Great train- terrible service.

  • I feel sorry for you, its a shame the new Javelin service does not benefit everyone.

  • The pressure changes on entering / leaving tunnels is quite significant on Eurostar - I would say it's even more intense than on aircraft during climb / descent.

  • Thank you for liking my video, good to hear that you like using the new Javelin services :)
