What!!? Knee injections should be done under sterile technique. This guy didn't even wear gloves. Did I see him pull the cap off the needle by sticking it in his mouth?!

Does this hurt?

Did this hurt? I am getting the Synvisc injection within the next week and am wondering what to expect in terms of pain.

I've had five in each knee. But usually they take fluid out prior to each injection. I didn't see that done here. So, first there is a needle inserted for aspiration; then the injection (I had Supartz) takes place. It's almost painless because the needle is so fine. The results, for me, have been great.

@kathleenherr I have never had fluid removed. Six shots of Supartz and they were all done like this.

Hello there! I am about to have knee injection on both of my knees but I am confused as to which injections is better. What did they use on your injections? Cockscomb or synthetic? Did it help? You are brave. Thank you. Alex

I had the Supartz done in both knees as well, and I believe that it is biological in nature (Hyaluronan derived from cockscomb).
