Islamic Caliphate Closer than Ever?

25 October, 2011 - Tunisia's Islamist Ennahda party is claiming victory in the nation's first elections since the Arab Spring uprisings.

"This is an historic moment," Zeinab Omri, a young woman in a hijab, or Islamic head scarf, outside the Ennahda headquarters told Reuters.

"No one can doubt this result. This result shows very clearly that the Tunisian people is a people attached to its Islamic identity," she said.

As the Islamic party prepares to lead a coalition government, many fear they will overturn Tunisia's progressive legislation on women and families in favor of Sharia law.

CBN Terrorism Analyst Erick Stakelbeck said an Islamic party victory and Libya's embrace of Islamic Sharia law mark a turning point in the region.

I can assure you that the emergence of the Islamic caliphate is a response to Western imperialism and terror (Military/Economic) imposed upon Muslim nations. Shariah law is also conducive to Muslim nations to end rampant corruption, dictatorships, degradation of morality, riba etc even in their own countries. Certainly, a leader will emerge eventually by God's will.

The Muslims already have an Islamic caliphate figurehead - the OIC. I have no double they would love to lead this new caliphate.
