We're back in The Hills Shire, this time with Mr Superior Pak collecting the garbage in this video, and the green-waste in another video. These machines were still pretty new at the time of video, because the contract had commenced with Cleanaway just recently. Before Cleanaway, JJ Richards held the collection contract, previously using a 2-bin collection system which has now been transformed into a 3-bin-system.

These trucks seem to go pretty well with a good speed, smooth bin-lifts and experienced operators. I also noticed that the signage on the trucks seems to have been mixed up - you can see on this one the greens signage is on this truck, and in the next video the garbage signage is on the greens truck! lol

Body Make: Superior Pak
Model: 23m Raptor
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: The Hills Shire
Contractor: Cleanaway (Transpacific Industries)
Collection Type: Garbage / Trash

  • Y did they have Greens trucks doing garbage and garbage trucks doing greens?

  • it is a very colourfull and a good whine

  • Oh ok that sounds pretty standard to me. Our routes were set up basically the same. Thanks for sharing!

  • Generally the garbage drivers do 2 loads > 1st one is a full load of 700-800 bins and the 2nd is usually about a half load of 300-500 bins. Recycling and Greens drivers would definitely do two full 400 bin loads with maybe even a 3rd. Then there's a decent amount of travel time to/from the tip/yard (1-2hrs turnaround). That's just average stats, depends on the day, season, council, etc of course...

  • Wow if they finish that late... makes me wonder how many bins they collect on a typical route?

  • Oh yer they're fast alright, but it may surprise you to know that they don't finish early at all; they start around 6am I believe and the garbage guys don't tip their last load until just after 2pm, I'd imagine recycling and greens may be a little earlier with finishing otherwise around the same time -- Cleanaway makes their employees work hard :)
