If you're referring to the logging skidder used as a flat car load, no, that's strictly a stationary display model. The Shay IS a full live-steam model, you can get details on it's operation in my "Intro to Live Steam" video here on "YouTube". ;)

Could you make an actual working live steam model of a steam skidder if you wanted too?? also..really nice videos...im trying to get accucraft shay. beautiful model!!! Really something!!!!

I couldn't (currently), but I know some people HAVE built working live-steam skidders. You'll like the Accucraft Shay (the 3-cylinder one in the video is mine), EXCELLENT first live-steamer! ;)

Your best bet would be to post a query on the "Live Steam" forum of mylargescale to find if anyone is doing them professionally (I wouldn't expect it to be cheap, requires a SUBSTANCIAL boiler rebuild!). I beleive Ryan's was his own "scratch" conversion.
