A short documentary that profiles Josh Swiller shortly after the release of his acclaimed memoir, "The Unheard: A Memoir of Deafness and Africa". Shot in Los Angeles in October 2007.
This was my first documentary that I made as a film student, and the first one that I captioned. Today, Josh's words continue to stand as a powerful testament of the potential of all human beings, particularly those with hearing loss.
Directed and shot by: Rhianon Gutierrez
Africa footage by: Spencer Seibert
Interviews: Josh Swiller, Zev Swiller

This is great.
He speaks really well for someone who experienced such profound hearing loss.
My younger brother is deaf and I remember my mother handing me this book to read a few years ago.. it's really a beautiful lesson.
Great job.
