I picked up the violin 2 months ago and have been more or less teaching myself (I played the cello for 9 years so I know the basics), and I have to say that I find your lessons extraordinarily helpful. Thanks

@221Dw actually, the legato and the staccato is the same as when you play the two grenadiers, same way.

Any Tips for getting the ending accurate'?

@SincerlyMari - It's a bit like all the tv shows about ghosts - if you have trouble playing it fast it's because you have unresolved issues at that spot! You have to do your detective thing and find out what the issues are. String crossings, bowing patterns, left finger patterns and do the fingers REALLY know where they're going with no help from you. Then play the whole ending 50 times slowly, and then try fast again!

I found this one a little confusing to read from sheet. It says the first 4 notes are 2 pairs of legato. How come you don't play both notes in 1 bow stroke? I thought it didnt sound right when I played it this way.

@221Dw - On the page it looks like the first two and second two groups of notes are slurred. But when there is a dot or dash under the slur somewhere, it only means that the notes are "hooked" which is to say that they both go in the same bow direction but with some sort of articulation between. So; down (stop) down up (stop) up - and make sure you get the rhythm right! Check out my practice video (not play-through video) for this piece - it may help.
