  • The one dislike was Strom.

  • Some herbs and other plants have healing properties because they contain chemicals with scientifically proven beneficial effects, such as aloe or the willow bark mentioned in the song. Shit like crystals and such are what annoy me about "alternative medicine". The burden of proof for these things is on the person claiming the supposed effects. I can't take a rock I find on the street, say it can heal wounds, and get mad when scientists call me a moron.

  • @xluckyxcloverx7 My mom has doctorates degree and she worked very hard for it. She often went on rants about big pharma and, to some extent, the things she said are probably true. I'm not your enemy and I'm not claiming that all natural medicine is useless. The point is that it's important to keep a skeptical mind and to do your own testing if big pharma won't do it. The field of natural medicine is full of people making claims that haven't been tested and those people have money to make also.

  • @BrooklynRagtag You clearly don't understand that I agree with science. But just because the pharmaceutical companies don't test traditional medicine, doesn't mean they aren't effective. It simply means they can't make money off of it. It's hard. cold. fact. that natural medicine works. Not "alternative", but natural. Religion has nothing to do with what I learn at an actual college, thank you very much.

  • @xluckyxcloverx7 Herbs are fine, but there is a lot more to "natural medicine." I grew up with a mom who practiced alternative medicine. She is an expert on nutrition, anatomy, and other things vetted by science. That's wonderful, but she also believes in all sorts of practices that are demonstrably useless. That isn't medicine. It's religion. If you want to help people, keep records of effectiveness and try to be skeptical enough not to accept a method just because it's "natural."

  • Amazing! I have been there before. He puts it so well.

  • Magnificent Mind

  • Can you upload Dark Side from this DVD? I think if my memory serves me correctly, he does the Greensleeves song in it instead of Fur Elise

  • Thank random mutations for creating hippies, alternative medicine and Tim Minchin!
