The word fairness Our government said that before. Indian removal policy was fair, the VA hospitals are fair, the stimuls's that reward only failing businesses for bad business is fair. Fighting wars that dont involve our national security fair. Erosion of civil liberties fair. If you turly support the fairness doctrine, create your own news station and follow it. Obama was quoted on lots of things like taxes will only go up for those making $250,000 uh $200,000 uh $150,000 I mean $120,000 a year. If he had said he was for the fairness doctrine it would have hurt his chances. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer are for it and those are the ones who write the Laws the Pres Just signs them. They'll try it all right because nobody wants to listen to Leftwing Talk Radio and they don't think that's Fair. They can't compete in that medium. So they will try

You think Beck is innovative? Whatever. In any event, what the format needs to do is concentrate more on entertainment value (like it used to) and less on advancing a political agenda.
Talk radio is slowly dying. The format skews toward the very old and very conservative and as the audience dies off, it's not being replaced.
As far as the Fairness Doctrine is concerned, the burden of proof is on the people to seem to think the incoming politicos can't wait to re-install it.

It doesn't matter if you think it's innovative or not. The audience is there and the advertisers think it's worth paying for ad. If the people didn't find value in it it would die like Air America. If you don't like it don't listen but don't try to take it away from people who do. That's starting to lean a little too close to Fascism. Oh...and that's a bad thing.
