LOL no way I love my Sigma 18-250. Great all around lens, none of that stuff happened with mine. Remember you can always send it back. The 18-250 used to be my walk around lens but I have switched to the Canon 24-70mm 2.8. However this is much more money but I keeps it's value. It's kind of like having money in the bank.

Will it be a good idea to buy this instead of buying the Canon 18-55 & 55-250 IS Lenses ??

How is shooting video with this ?

@prb2k9 You may get a slightly sharper image with the Canon but in that range I would be changing lenses way to frequently. I wouldn't trade my Sigma 18-250 for anything on the market in the same class including the Canon combo. I still get very crisp images with this lens. I will say this, you'll have more fun with the Sigma

Awesome man. I have this lens and I'm very happy with it. I've bought it from US with around $470 and in my country(Romania) is about $900(I was shocked). Anyway, I've studyed your sample photos from the link and there are GREAT, especially the waterfalls made with Sigma 18-250mm. Good review too. Respect.

@grassyapple @grassyapple Dear Sir i loved your review and your style. i am a begginer photographer and was looking for a new all around lens and i came across this (18-250) and the (18-200) both from sigma.

However i have heard ALOTE of bad reviews and problems with the 18-200mm such as the OS stops woking within a month, display of error messages on the camera, not being able to take ANY shots after a while due to mechanical problems.

Please let me know if urs has any of these problems

Hey I currently have a Sigma 17-70mm macro/normal combo lens...I love the lens but I need a higher telephoto range so I'm thinking of making the switch to this one. Do you think this lens can perfectly replace the same field as the 17-70mm I had (I am going from F/2.8-4 to whatever this is) Thanks!!
