fact 2 : su-30 # in IAF is 150 now & will go up to 270. not quite limited in number is it ? the engines are made in koraput in India. they are not sent back to russia for repairs.
tejas is nothing like mirage tech, it might look similar and that's where the similarity ends. tech wise it is classified 4.5 gen and easily capable of handling what pak or china will be able to throw at us for the next 2 decades.
as for US, it needs to stop funding the terrorist state of pakistan first.

se_Program there is also a joint project with israel to develop a long ranged SAM. the short version is, we don't need patriot which is a pretty old system.

But India needs Aegis/Patriot type Missile Defense against Communist China.
SU-30's are limited in number & India has to send the Engines back to Russia for repair, these Engines are very easily damaged, this is not Strategically smart. TEJAS are old tech like Mirage 2000.
India must form coalition with Strategic Countries namely Japan & USA etc to defend against the Communist Chinese String of Pearl attack. Can't trust Russia.
