Charlotte, North Carolina skyline-June 1991-BoA construction

Over the past 20 years the Charlotte skyline has grown tremendously and still continues to grow to this day. This video clip was taken by me one summer day when I got my first video camera in 1991. What better thing to try it out on than the Charlotte skyline with the new 60 story Nationsbank headquarter tower under construction (now Bank of America). The first views were taken from the west, then driving from the NW into town via W4th St. Then, the scene ends looking from the east at Independence Park and from the Central Ave bridge. This bridge has often been, and still is a hotspot for skyline photographers.

Don't compare cloumbia to charlotte. the only reason columbia is on the map, is because your the state capital. But Charlotte has REALLY changed. Look! It's wittle baby charlotte!

Great Footage, Well along with the Growth spurts here in Charlotte we also have to deal with the Growing pains. That is the BOA Headquarters under construction. It was completed in '92

@hammerhead0519 I don't think the guy was comparing Columbia to Charlotte; he was just saying Columbia has changed within the past 10-15 years as well. But of course, it pales in comparison to the changes Charlotte has gone through--some for the better, some for the worse.

im lookn at this vid cause i saw charlotte from the plane, we landed in charlotte, and the city looked alot bigger than i thought charlotte was, pretty kool, lol at penis shaped building

I agree. The state of North Carolina in general has changed a lot in the last 10-15 years. If someone from out of state were to ask me my opinion (especially if it were about moving here), I would say ''don't move here''. This has become the most moved to place in the country. It is now a dump. It's hard to believe this is the way NC used to be. It has just grown too much and many people have moved in. I too have noticed SC has taken a change for the worst too. I have been trying to move out.
