Abuse and exploitation of animals is unjustifiable and should be unlawful. These people are a bunch of money hungry crooks. They need to live their lives in a cage without any human attention, namely "solitary confinement" in prison. Publicity is the key to ending the torture of animals.

I don't see how this guy could possibly say a dog could be contented spending all its life in a cage that's 'regulation sized'. Let's put a toilet in a closet and deliver food and water let him live his whole in it and see how he likes it. Even prisoners in jail get to go outside in the exercise yard.

The puppy mill you were allowed to film is paradise compared to most. My state Dept. Of Agriculture routinely licenses (and seldom inspects) millers who were shut down in neighboring states.
This is an extremely well-done film, though-and thank you for having thee guts to produce and air it. Great job!!!

Pet shop owner is and idiot if he thinks the puppy mill dogs are the highest quality.

"all of the facilities are USDA licensed, which means they get inspected" BUT what he didnt say is that when there are failures in those inspections, they are not fined or shut down, they're simply given guidance and the inspector 'hopes' they'll fix the problems (like feces covered dogs, untreated wounds, unsafe conditions etc)

I have to say I'm not that huge of an animal rights guy, but I've seen firsthand what happens to those extra puppies from kennels like this. It is wrong. I would rather pay more from a private breeder that had higher standards the get a puppymill dog. But thankfully I didn't have too. I got my dog from someone in loogootee, it's close to odon. And I payed 125. Local pet store (srq fl.) would have charged 575. So daviess county isn't all bad breeders.

the daviess county indiana humain society has a petition against this. erected a bill board on the highway. does anyone know if anything has been done about this? or if one of the larger national animal rights groups has been contacted? this makes me sick!

If there's a demand there will be a supply...
Although keep in mind this video is from 2007. I think more people are turning to shelter adoption and choosing to purchase purebreds from reputable breeders. I've seen a lot of pet stores discontinue carrying puppy mill puppies, and choose to invite rescues to bring their animals in on the weekends for adoption events.
I have to disagree with the comment there is less selection at shelters. There's amazing choice... all ages, all breeds!

I live right next to oden and i have talked to that guy before the graber guy he seems like a nice person but guess not

pinkstrawberry64, have you actually DONE your research on pet stores and puppy mills? By buying a puppy from a pet store you're ENABLING a pet store and hurting the puppy. Pet stores should be selling pet supplies only and NOT selling puppies and kittens there. It was even on Oprah about pet stores and puppy mills and EVERY animal lover will tell you NEVER buy a dog or cat from a pet store! My aunt got a dog from a pet store and now it's sick, I tried to warn her but she didn't listen to me!

i have heard the amish raise these dogs and if they dont sell them within the first few months they kill them. once they are out of their "cute" puppy stage they dont want them anymore. thats sick and disgusting. i went to uncle bills a few weeks ago, they are charging $1500 for some of these dogs that are mixed breeds. its ridiculous and sick.
Can I add this video to my palylist in my channel page here in youtube?
