I have a friend that has a Sony Bravia kdl-40v4100 40inch tv. Lightning stuck his house. Phone don't work anymore and neither does the tv. Is there anything I can do?

I had my audio muted when the video started, and I saw him talking and said "Great, he must be speaking indian or something". Then, I turn up my volume, and WTF? He stole the voice box of a white guy!

I know you guys can't do a teardown of every TV but I need help with my Samsung. It is very simple the first problem is the TV will not turn on, the power light just flickers and no picture just a black screen. The Second problem is I can't get the back off of the TV. I took out all the screws and everything but there is something holding the back on the TV around were the Input and Outputs go. Need help please, can't play or watch anything. thanks in advance. :-)
