Corvettes at Carlisle 2009 Commercial

Corvettes at Carlisle, the worlds largest and most prestigious event celebrating Americas Sports Car races back to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds on August 28-30, 2009.

Corvettes at Carlisle is a must-attend event for fans of all generations of Americas sports car with a race reunion featuring the 2009 Le Mans Class Champion and special guest icon Mario Andretti presented by MagnaFlow Exhaust!

Racing icon Mario Andretti, who began his driving career in the Keystone State, will meet with fans, sign autographs and pick out his favorite Corvette on the Corvettes at Carlisle Fun Field on Saturday.

Andretti, considered by many to be the greatest race car driver in the history of the sport, goes hand-in-hand with the 2009 Corvettes at Carlisle theme: a Corvette race car reunion. Expect to see a wide array of great race cars from each generation of C1 C6 Corvettes. A 20th anniversary display of Corvettes that raced in the 88-89 Corvette Challenge Car Series will celebrate fourth generation Corvette race cars. This years Chips Choice Invitational Display will showcase Corvettes that have raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans, including this years GT Class winning # 63 Compuware Corvette C6.R, raced by Corvette Racing/Pratt & Miller Engineering. It is likely to be one of, if not the biggest collection of, Le Mans Corvettes to ever be assembled. Corvettes at Carlisle will also host free seminars throughout the weekend, including a racers round table that will give the audience a chance to hear war stories from various drivers, team owners and collectors.

The GM team members that created the Corvette will be once again be on-hand at Corvettes at Carlisle to meet with the enthusiasts that drive their passion. At last years Corvettes at Carlisle, the GM team unveiled the new ZR1 with an engineering and design walk-around. This year, the long awaited 2010 Grand Sport will make its Carlisle debut. The GM team members will conduct seminars to better educate attendees on the newest Corvette Grand Sport.

Also drafting on the speed of the Corvettes at Carlisle Race Reunion is this years Corvettes at Carlisle Giveaway Corvette, presented by ProTeam Corvette Sales. On Sunday, August 30th, one lucky attendee will drive home in a Millennium Yellow Corvette LS1. This 2004 Corvette is street-legal but by no means an ordinary street car, but rather a turn-key, reliable, track-ready race car guaranteed to put a huge grin on the face of any driver who gets behind the wheel.
