For many years Whitehorse Musical Theatre has brought its audiences the best in an array of Broadways hit theatrical productions, from Les Miserables to Disneys Beauty and The Beast & 42nd Street to Hello, Dolly!

In 2008 our company was highly commended at the non professional Victorian Music Theatre Guild Awards for 2008 winning numerous awards including Best Production with Suessical The Musical and 2009 is no exception as we proudly bring to you the musical stage adaptation of the hit movie Footloose.

The Footloose story follows a teenager called Ren who leaves the comforts of his home town Chicago where dancing and singing is not a crime. Ren and his mother leave Chicago to live with his Uncle in the country town of Bomont. In this town the local Reverend Shaw has had laws passed to forbid any teenagers from Dancing and enjoying Rock & Roll music. Ren struggles to have these laws changed as he comes up against bullying, oppression, falling in love and a town that needs to Cutloose! This production will definitely have you dancing in the aisles to the hit songs I Need a Hero, Lets hear it for the Boy, Almost Paradise, and the title song Footloose, which still packs the dance floors around the world today at many clubs, karaoke & weddings.

If you feel like its time to Cutloose in 2009 the one thing you should do is come and see Footloose, you will love it!
