Burlington Northern Santa Fe C44-9W (Dash 9-44CW) 1109, still in early BNSF post-merger colors, leads Canadian National SD75I 5653 north through Monument, Colorado, on Sunday, March 28, 2010. In the past, the engineer would have begun blowing for the town's only grade crossing at about this location. However, a recent ordinance has banned train horns. Note the houses in the background, built all the way up to the tracks. This probably explains the train horn ban. Listen for the bell on the second shot, the only train warning device allowed within the city limits.
