@galantboy Alternator was fine. The gauge is not driven from the alternator, its driven from the gearbox. The gearbox is not stock, its a bodged replacement from a Renault van which is why it didn't work.

alternators bust mate.....iv had tons of these and when the rev counter packs up is when the alternator stops charging...dunoo why its just how it is. i had 1 that when you got to 2500 rpm rev counter dropped and so did the charge.

I know how to start the car properly, I only did this video for the entertainment =)

Why is your speedo vertical? Should be on 0 mph lol
PugMarshall2906 1 year ago
@PugMarshall2906 It is on 0mph =) If you look at the scale, each large bar is 10mph, so the first bar is not zero, it is in fact 10mph =)
Thanks for looking at the vid =)

hmmm......how about the alarm? i heard that beeping when you tried to start it a few times. can you disconnect that easily? they often cause problems with killing batterys over a few days too

@galantboy The battery was flat so it was resetting on a low voltage cutout. The battery was knackered, the alarm wasn't discharging it. The battery was just weak from the beginning and it being sat for days didn't help. The car has been replaced now anyway with another 306 but a turbo diesel version.
