Brighton Bulldogs (MI) v. South Lyon Lions - 1997 Football Season (GAME 5)

This was the biggest conference game of the year for us. These two schools HATED each other as they were the two best football teams in the KVC. I will proudly admit that I absolutely loathed everything about South Lyon, including, but not limited to, pennies in a milk jug, a PA announcer who thought he was a commentator on the radio and the "Welcome to the Jungle" signs and GNR song before the game. I have since become less bitter in my advanced age but at the time you could not find a more heated rivalry in the state. It felt real good to kick the sh!t out of them this season!

AHAHAHAHA! 1997? You're kidding me? For about 5-9 years now Brighton doesn't even COMPARE to South Lyon and never will again. South Lyon can kill Brighton with ease these days. It might get more difficult now that SL is split in two schools, the talent won't be stacked, it'll be split between the schools.

So Brighton has a chance now. But Bulldawgs and Lions of Varsity, isn't even funny. South Lyon walks away with like double the score!

to any one who thinks south lyon is better... 2011- Brighton won 24-10, 2010- Brighton won 38-16, 2009 Brighton won 47-8, 2008 Brighton won 56-22, 2007 South Lyon won 0-6, 2006 South Lyon won 28-48, 2005 Brighton won 16-12, 2004 Brighton won 17-9 then lost in the playoffs, 2003 South Lyon won 20-16, 2002 Brighton won 26-19, 2001 Brighton won 14-10, 2000 Brighton won 14-10.... must i go on? you guys literally suck.

Wow.. Bringing back High School memories, I was a sophmore, and definately at this game.. Cheering on SL.. Wasn't Drew Henson on this team?? Maybe it was this next year.. I forget, soo long ago... But I don't have to watch til the end to see who wins, my friends from Brighton rubbed it in for about 2 years!
