Malmsteen ist technically one of the best no doubt but if it comes to improvising or to write something interesting in your own he just sucks.

You don't need to be able to play as well as yngwie to be able to criticise him, you know...
It's like gymnastics, the jury that gives the scores is never as good as the athletes but yet they can judge - and they can do it well.
I'm not saying every idiot has something useful to say, but I do believe everyone knows what he likes and that's all music is about: One can never say a musician is doing sonething 'wrong'. One can only say "I don't like what that musician is doing"

@qsakif well, one serious problem i find in him is his lack of care with guitars. not hating or anything, but i find that a serious problem. it's something i admire about greats like steve vai and rory gallagher that they're always careful with their instruments, even when doing extreme things.

@moucon the great thing about the internet is you can criticize as much as you want without having any musical talent or ability and people will take you seriously. You're obviously exaggerating. It wasn't that bad. If you listen closely you can see he does play with alternating dynamics, speed, and attack, but you seem to have some kind of grudge against shred guitarists. I'd like to see you play a piece half as difficult and half as well as yngwie.
