This video is an excerpt from Outdoor Channel's 'Best Defense'. It contains excellent role-plays and guidance on the wrong and right way to kill someone (in self-defense presumably). It is also one of the most ridiculous things that I've ever seen on TV!!

That's right - leave if there are NO WITNESSES. What don't you understand about that? This will just be marked down as one of thousands of unsolved killings of a dead junkie. You won't be on the run because they won't know who did it if you don't tell anyone. Are you so caught up in following the rules that you are willing to give up your freedom for it? I am a retired police officer and I am telling you that these kinds of shootings rarely get solved.

This guy also shot the girl too quick. I drew my weapon too many times to count during my career and never once had to pull the trigger. YES, pointing a gun at someone does indeed stop them from advancing more than 99% of the time. Once I had a college athlete at a party run at me with a butcher knife in each hand, I drew my weapon, yelled "STOP!" and it was like freeze tag, he somehow stopped in mid stride, not sure how he was able to put the brakes on that quick, but no need to shoot the kid.

I see something wrong here one he should have ordered her to drop the knife second got much farther away from the downed woman for the same reason she still could be a threat and when he was on the ground next ti her she could have attacked before the officer could react.

1. Agreed regarding the so-called "justice" system.

2. Agreed that innocent people are incarcerated for crimes they did not commit.

3. However, if you are a retired LEO (and I'm not saying you're not), then you of all people know how difficult it is to "dodge" under the circumstances presented in the video.
