This song was not written about people who lost their lives in a horrific tragedy. It was written about people who isolate themselves in order to cope with the harshness of reality. It was inspired by Syd Barrett, who alienated himself from everybody. So they took someone else's song and sang it out of context, and indulged themselves with new lyrics.

It's not about hating Fred Durst, or the Goo Goo Dolls, its about the people we lost on 9/11. Everyone's a critic, but people just need to sit back and think about the significance of the song...God Bless.
