1999 FORD Windstar Speedometer Instrument Cluster Repair

Do you want to know - how do you take the dash off of a ford windstar?

In the video I show you how I removed the instrument cluster (dash gauge) panel from a 1999 Windstar mini van because the gauge indicators are going nuts.

I repaired the panel and reinstalled it.

My friend has been driving it around now for months and reports everything is fine now. Problem solved.

dude how did you repair your cluster? and its easier to remove and replace the cluster if you drop the steering column . i did that and it was a breeze!

@tvicena i don't drive this vehicle so I did not know it had tilt steering and the guy never mentioned that it had

@slednck3 Thanks for the advice but the damn thing caught on fire from a bad wiring harness. Got me a shiny new Honda Pilot :-)

HERE'S THE DEAL. Take the white cover off the back of the cluster. There are 2 control boards connected by ribbon cables. The problem is "bad solder joints" on the smaller board ribbon connector plugs. Find someone that has a year of electronics and have them re-solder the connections. Give me a holler and let me know if this helps.
