Atlas V Launch with the experimental Air Force spaceplane, X-37B. This lifted off around sunset on April 22, 2010 from Complex 41 in Cape Canaveral, FL. Filmed from the Complex 39 Press Site in Kennedy Space Center.

Lesson learned: Remember to turn off autofocus for launches. Also, tighten up the tripod when you're done tracking it ... sorry for the slam near the end when the camera slipped on one of its axes :-D.

  • This is the best video of the X-37B launch on Youtube right now, especially when viewed in 1080p on a 1080p monitor. Congratulations to the cameraman; thanks for the video. I think that this video would be even better with informative annotations. What type of camera did you use?

  • @JA238979 Awesome, I appreciate the feedback! I shot it with a Canon Vixia HF200.

  • @deadly150r still not illegal

  • @Boeing747type8 it looks like ur hiding in the bushes out side of a secret millitary base launching a new rocket in the middle of nowhere

  • @deadly150r why illegal?

  • this looks like wut ur doing is highly illeagale

  • Not exactly a shuttle launch. Interesting that it has almost no plum during most of its ascent. I guess that's so it doesn't give itself away as much.

  • This is absolutely incredible and other countries should do the same. The wars will be much more awesome after the militarization of space.

  • @2111974777 LOL...

  • Watching this fullscreen, 1080p, with the volume all the way up, I've gotta say this video is among the best launch videos I've ever seen. Having been to a few launches myself, it really feels like you're there in some way I can't pin down. The sounds of nature and the echoes really add to the feeling of authenticity.

  • @Ferrariman i guess you set me straight, stick it up ur ass and stick to your ferraris, fairyman

  • @2111974777 The rocket's vapor trail disappeared quickly because the vehicle is climbing at an incredibly high rate of speed and passes through the area of the atmosphere most conducive to vapor trail formation very quickly. An airliner however is always travelling at that altitude, thus the much longer trails.
