Tetany in toes from electrolyte imbalance is excruciatingly painful. Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium are chronically low. Sodium is in low range also.

  • I have this happen to me all the time Medical Marijuana would really help you

  • Quit cryin like a baby and eat banana

  • Believe it or not...i had Tetany in the exact foot...while i was switching from Vegetarian meals to Vegan Meals....

Once i tried to remember what i ate that week...after the pain went away... i walked to the Natural Food Store, and picked up a

VEGAN supplement of "Red Marine Calcium"

3 tablets equal 100% Calcium [Lithothamium spp.] [from Red Algae] and 19% Magnesium [Lithothamium spp] [from Algae]

Once i learned like Kale and Turnip Greens, brocolli, have calcium, no more Tetany.

  • Been there SEVERAL times so know the horrible pain your deal with. I just had alot of bloodwork done this morning and so far the first result to come back is low potassium levels so they gave scribed two different meds to take. I have to take Hydroclorot for my water arond my heart therefore without the potassium the water pill was depleteing the natural potassium levels so it was causing toe cramps, heart palpitations, chronic fatique with flu like feelings....Got to have potassium hugs :)

  • Happy feet

  • @duvexy Sorry, but that's terrible advice. Pedialyte may have electrolytes, but it also is loaded with harmful artificial flavors, colors, and sweetners that are associated with ADD, ADHD, autism, and other health problems.

  • I recognise my own foot here!

Do you also have the same spasms in your fingers??

The pain is excruciating, I know!!

And, I am sorry to say, but bananas do not help.....!!! I think I ate a whole banana harvest......!! Its not a lack of kalium, but a lack of VITAMINE D3, cholecalciferol!!

Let your doctor check your levels of Vit. D3, and PARATHORMON!!!! I hope you get better from this info!!! (Docters often need a little help of the patient I 'm afraid, because they do not see this a lot!

  • keep your body hydrated and make sure you have fruit in the morning especially bananas

  • I hate my tetany. It hurts so much:(

  • I am not a dr. but I do have some advice. You do need to see your dr. and drinking gatorade or pedialyte. Pedialyte is an oral electrolyte solution manufactured by Abbott Laboratories and invented by Gary Cohen, MD of Swampscott, Massachusetts,
