  • @EmperorOfSilence, I'd really love to see Gerald Mosse get the mount on California Memory in the Hong Kong Cup. I think he's the best jockey in France, and one of the best in Europe. He's had some success in the past at Sha Tin, too. I thought that ride he gave Daryakana to win the Hong Kong Vase in 2009 was awesome!!

  • @GBeret83

btw. it appears m.guyon has been fired from ambitious dragon and will be riding byword instead. whyte is likely to be riding ambitious dragon and while not confirmed, there are rumors going around that mosse will be given the california memory ride instead of m.chadwick.

  • @GBeret83

thanks. i'm looking for a ambitious dragon - california memory quinella too.

i just think california memory might be better at 12F - as said, he reminds me of deep impact :)

  • @EmperorOfSilence, I think California Memory has a huge chance of winning the Hong Kong Cup. When he's at his best, I also put him right there with Ambitious Dragon ability wise. I can't imagine California Memory not making the frame in this race, at the very least? I backed him to win this year's G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup, and it's really the only race I've seen California Memory in that he disappointed me. No doubt the horse has a ton of talent.

  • @GBeret83

btw. what do you think of california memory's chances vs ambitious dragon? my own view is that california memory might be better over 12F? he reminds me of deep impact.

  • @GBeret83

sorry, my last post may have caused some misunderstanding. i left out '10F'. indeed, ambitious dragon is running in the HK cup at 10F.

i will be at the jockey club box watching :)

  • @EmperorOfSilence, I was of the impression that Ambitious Dragon was going to run in the Hong Kong Cup over 10f instead of the Hong Kong Mile? Have I received incorrect info about that?

  • @GBeret83

he was given an awful ride by m.guyon - 4 deep w/o cover whole way through and he pressed the button way too early. barring any idiocy like this on international day, he should win - i don't see any horses with his scintillating turn of foot over this distance

  • I'll guarantee you this run will have Ambitious Dragon spot on ready for the G1 Hong Kong Cup. If he return's to his best Sha Tin form in the Cup? It'll take a hell of an effort from Cirrus Des Aigles, Byword, Ransom Note, or any of the other top European horses to beat Ambitious Dragon in the Hong Kong Cup. This is the first time he's been beaten at Sha Tin in a long, long time, and it was on the final stride by Destined For Glory. Plus, this race was at a mile, and I think he's better at 10f.
