  • I am having some difficulty with the battery wire. mine is not quite snugging into place. will there be a click of some sort? I have it plugged into my computer, but its saying "Please wait, Low Battery". Should I just wait or is my wire maybe broken??

  • @Skablam0793 If the "Low Battery" warning does not go away after 15 minutes, then the battery is probably not connected correctly. The ribbon cable for the battery just gets pushed into the connector on the logic board. If you are confident in your installation and are still finding the "Low battery" message, you may have an issue with the main electronics board and not the battery.

  • question MY Ipod wont come on...only the apple logo is restating off and on...I have tried to reset it, by pressing the menu and center buttons but this is not working...I have charged it as will but nothing is working...what can I do now?

  • @grammygam If the hard reset does not work you can attempt to put it into Disk Mode by holding the Center + Play/Pause button. The proper way to do this is to toggle the hold switch on, then off; hold center + menu. Once the screen "fizzles" out then hold the Center + Play/Pause buttons. Shortly the display will go black and white and you may be able to get a connection to iTunes so as you can do a restore. If none of this works, you would need to send it in for a Diagnosis.

  • when i plug in my ipod i leave it off so it turns on by itself when i plug it in, but itunes doesnt pop up, nor does it turn on at all.

  • @MsPamkitty That is tricky, if the device shows no display when plugged into a wall charger you may have an issue with the main electronics board. The original issue with the clickwheel could have been a main electronics board issue from the beginning. In some cases when you disassemble the device and reassemble it, there will be a need for a hard reset (hold menu and center button at the same time). If your center button functions you can do this reset, if it does not then you need a board.

  • thank you for responding so quickly...it was helpful, and the Ipod need to have a replacement of the battery...thanks again...

  • Thank You for all the help.

  • @MsPamkitty the center button is not connected to anything it just sits between the faceplate and the board, being held in position by the rest of the clickwheel. If you were to completely disassemble the device down to just the logic board you can then change the clickwheel out with a new one, or re-seat the center button to make better contact with the actual button on the board. There is a black "pad" on the logic board that takes up the space from the button to the board, this pad may be off

  • how much to fix the center button? its stuck but it still works if i press really hard.
