@Oldbmwr100rs I think that it is interesting that we seem to have been unable to sustain the momentum in technology but also in culture, because in the last 40 years no one has produced a science fiction film that even come close to the excellence of this one. No matter that the conservatives try to kill the idea, the 60s and 70s will be remembered as a revolutionary period for the arts, science and technology, and human rights.
