@ammanboss : Why would getting the chance to operate from a broadcast station be hamradio dislike?
Wouldn't you go for the experiance?

DAMN... I've had less QRN to VK land from VE land on a QRP and dipole.... that system and you still need the linear on the desk eh? hmmm not impressed. Neat to look at but not worth the real estate or price.

FYI -- the song at the beginning of this excellent vid is AC/DC's "Big Gun" single, great tune for the vid !!!
Jamieduk999 -- SSB's advantage is that it's narrow-band, uses much less space on the airwaves than its predecessor mode, AM.

ok what is the advantage of ssb over any other band?

I would love to have the same opportunity

@KJ4UNR
Hi and thank for replying...we have been at that commercial station a couple times but now it is in use by the goverment on another level.
It was sure great to work with these antennas, specially on 40 meters.
Hope to talk to you some time from home or PI4W contest station.

500KW, antennas that go way up to the moon. So what is the challenge ?

@maciejwrotek
We use an Drake L4B amplifier, the broadcast station which normally runs with 500Kw was off air when we were there.
What's the challenge???...just the experiance to work with such an antenna with 22 Db gain and 7 degree take off angle.
Wouldn't you go for the experiance?
