WARNING: This is a much longer video than what we usually post!
We considered cutting out some of the info, but we decided that this new technology warrants some extended explanation.

Today we're back with J.J., the ASUS Senior Technical Marketing Specialist, to learn about UEFI and try out some overclocking on the new Sandy Bridge platform.

We've got one more video for this series -- some heavy overclocking on the Maximus IV Extreme, and a tri-SLI test with three GTX 580s, so stay tuned!

  • @FERTUHG seriously? im no techie but i figured out how to OC on my asus p8z68 in one go. even the asus manual has info on how to do it. even if you can't figure it out through the obvious description in the bios you can just use the extreme performance settings on ez mode. with that, you'll get about 4.3ghz oc stable that's just enough for the stock cooler.

  • @cozzo707 in thz maybe in 500 years

  • this is pretty badass, im surprised we've been runnin with BIOS for like 15 years it seems like, and its never been reformatted.

  • @cozzo707 10 years AGO we'd be measuring in Mhz and laugh at Hz

  • Dragon Drop to select boot device. I like it :P

  • Love the dual post bios(uefi) in the background.

  • Wait he just ran 1.65v through ram on a sandy bridge system.. Dosnt that burn out the cpu?

  • I CAN'T FLIPPING WAIT TO GET THE 2500K

  • I just bought an i5 2500k processor with an asus 8z68 pro gen3 mobo. Lovely

  • @Fsxace999 you can on both but the normal one has a locked multiplier while the K have unlocked multiplier, hence higher oc limit.
