@Teelux Unfortunately, because he didn't tour outside Europe much, he isn't as well known as he should be. He's a bass player's bass player. Most people connect Ray Brown (another great bassist with a different style), with Oscar.

I used to say you I can play things on fretless bass guitar you couldn't do on an upright. While I still believe that I struggle to play the stuff NHOP did. How he played like that on an instrument as physically demanding as an upright is beyond imagination. He is an under appreciated giant of Jazz.
