Nick smiled and laughed at something Selena said. He couldn't help but smile when he saw her smile, it was contagious. "You have really pretty eyes," he said softly. He lifted a hand and brushed her hair out of her face. She blushed and put her head down. She was glad Kevin and Danielle had taken Frankie and Madison to see a movie, and Joe and Demi were in Kevin's spare bedroom. "Why are you blushing ?" he asked her. Selena blushed even more, and replied "i'm not exactly used to compliments"
"Well, if i'd known you before today, i would have complimented you," he replied. Kevin walked through carrying a sleeping Madison, and Danielle followed, carrying a sleeping Frankie. "Go home, its 10.30, and we just spent 2 hours chasing two kids around a movie theatre," Kevin whispered angrily. Nick and Selena stood up.
"Where's Joe and Demi ?" Danielle asked. Nick and Selena looked at the door of the spare room, and both said in unison, "im not going to get them." Kevin walked over and knocked on the door, before informing them that if they didnt leave his house in the next ten minutes, he was going to personally throw them out in whatever they were wearing. Five minutes later, they emerged, red-faced, and Joe was shirtless. (an. sorry couldnt resist.)
"Go home," Kevin said. They left, and stood outside. "Now what ?" asked Joe. "Well, first of all, Joe put your shirt back on." Selena said, "We dont need to see that. Second, take Madison and Frankie home." Nick took a sleeping Frankie from Joe's arms and said, "We'll take Frankie if you take Madison. " Demi and Joe left with Madison, and Nick turned in the opposite direction. "Who's we ?" asked Selena, as she walked beside him. "You and me. Unless you want to go back to an empty flat by yourself." he replied.
When they got to Nicks flat, Nick put Frankie in his bed, and went to the kitchen to find Selena raiding through his cupboards. "Make yourself at home then, " he said to her. She pulled a box of cereal from the cupboard, and began to pour it into a bowl as she replied, "Dont worry, im doing just that." She sat down with her cereal at the table, aross from Nick. Her blackberry vibrated in her opcket. She took it out, and read the text.
"I'm on a plane, and i like, need you to be at the airport, with like my usual from starbucks, because it, like doesnt taste the same in France. The plane is landing at midnight."
Selena looked at the clock, "oh crap,"she whispered. It was 11.45. "Whats wrong ?" asked Nick. "Lets just say, i dont exactly have your typical 9 to 5 job. I gotta go. I guess I'll see you around." With that, she grabbed her jacket and left. Nick was left standing there, with no idea about what the heck just happened. He sat down at the table and put his head in his hands. "I'm so stupid. I didn't even get her number. She probably wouldnt even give it to me if i asked." He decided to call Joe, he needed some guy help.
Joe and Demi took Madison back to her mom's, and then went back to Demi's flat. It was 11.45pm, exactly when Selena left Nick's, kind of like Cinderella. Of course, Demi and Joe didn't know that, and they wouldnt care if they did. They were sitting on the couch watching a movie, Joe had his arm around Demi, and she rested her head on his chest. They were watching P.S I love you. "Demi, why are we watching this, its a chick flick." Joe said. "Yes and im a chick, thats why we're watching it," replied Demi. Joe decided not to argue. Demi began to cry when Holly was told Gerry had died. (an if you havent saw it, go see it. i didnt cry. it was allergies) Joe kissed her forehead, and said softly "Don't cry baby girl. I dont like seeing you cry," Demi looked at him and smiled. He kissed her softly, and she kissed back. Then, Joe's phone began to ring. He looked at it, saw it was Nick, and pressed the ignore button. Joe stood up, then picked her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and he carried her into her bedroom, closing the door behind them.
