You should hear Oistrakh play Sibelius' Violin Concerto.

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOO KHACHATURYAN IS THE BEST OF THE BESTS! -
This is one of my favourite violin concertos Oistrakh is brilliant ! Thank you very much...the fast staccato runs in the first movement somehow always remind me of the playing of Jazz fusion guitar virtuoso John McLaughlin lol :-)

I'm playing this piece now and I almost hate how easy he makes it sound. Just learning one small passage of this piece can take upwards of fifteen minutes, not including playing it up to speed, metronome work and so on. David Oistrakh was a truly unbelievable player, far better than almost all current violinists. I wish I could make it sound this easy! Beautiful music.
The cadenza he is playing is the Kachaturians cadenza or Oistrachs cadenza?

It's Oistrakh's cadenza. Kachaturian's is inferior, in my opinion; good beginning, but it kind of rambles to the end.
