The worst thing overall in my opinion was that the unionists had originally opposed home rule in Ireland for fear of being discriminated against because of their religion as they were in minority. When the tables were turned however they decided to become what they feared and started bullying the catholics. Most disgusting piece of hypocrisy i've ever heard of.

Ireland is bankrupt, it is in debt of 700 billion pounds. This is equivalent to Every man,woman & child in Ireland in debt of 175,000 pounds. It would be unfair to say this didnt impact on Protestant also, it did but it obviously effected the Nationalist community a lot more.
