I've been making these types of boats since I was a kid, this is my best one yet.
This is a homemade r.c. boat I built using junk parts from a crashed Lama V3 r.c. heli' and a computer side panel, 3 pop bottles, and other "found around the house" stuff.
It's FAST and very controllable, not bad for a buch of junk thrown together along with some creative thought, engineering, and jeerrigging. It's raw and just "thrown together", not meant to be pretty...just to test a concept design. perhaps someday I will refine the design. My "Hydroprops" litteraly float ON the water, not in it. Too bad the swash plate was broken, otherwise I'd have made the steering from the Lama V3's lower rotor and had "vectored thrust" instead of the rudder that hangs down and could get caught in algea, scum, rocks etc.

  • Mud skipper, nice. Everglade fan boat would rock if you added an action figure for handling.

  • @441rider Thanks for the comments, not only here but on my ESV vids as well!

  • @Starbuckin

Hey I taped it off screen with a HD video cam set to saturate colours on ESV and it looked awesome. It is backed up, still amaze you actually posted it. We grew up with the style from back when Soylent green and Westworld an the fact many have a gloomy outlook could be directly related to the making of many similar sci-fi flics. Disney is certainly not unbiased. LOL! Geting my Big lama monday and look forward tomaking it into a video hoverbot. Gen X all the way!

  • @441rider Cool, glad you've got it! I'm fixing to delete it right now. Was waiting 4 conformation that you had it. It's too bad I can't leave it up but I won't risk a copyright strike.I've passed the torch to someone else. I know lots of people DLed it. Perhaps one of them will care enough to post it somewhere, someday for more fans, like me and the guy I got the DVD from... Be SURE to keep your new Big Lama OUT of the wind or you'll be making a boat sooner than you plan!

  • i think it would go faster with a propeller

  • @everybodyelsedoes It sits in the water less than half an inch, this is it's advantage. It can travel in VERY shallow water. A prop sticking down would limit it's abilities because it would easily get snagged in moss, debris, the bottom, etc. But you're right, I'm sure one could make it much faster with a prop.
