@blokcube I'd love to see it - I've been working at some alternative gate implementations myself. The ones I used on the Digicomp II are still the most reliable in many situations, and the simplest, but there are plenty of variations.

Nice implementation - I like the gate design, that's difficult to do and yours seems to work rather well. The bottom of the gate is clearly a "Technic triangle", but I can't tell what the top of the gate is made from - 1 1x2 brick stuck studs-down into a 1x5 studless beam? This is a tighter (smaller) implementation than I thought you could get using such large gates - very nice!
